The Race is On

October 2016 Southern California morning traffic, hmmm. I had this brilliant idea I’ll race my husband to his place of employment. Who will win? The family van and the freeway vs me pedaling my little solar power assist, ELF/bike named Shelby and side streets. The race will cover approximately 8+ miles during the morning rush hour.… Continue reading The Race is On

What was I thinking?

October 2017 I just wanted to grab breakfast at a local eatery and run a few errands. What happened was I spent the day talking to myself while pedaling. The stuff I say to myself sometimes is just a kick. Either I’m crazy or I’m really funny. At least I amuse easily. The bulk of… Continue reading What was I thinking?

Death by bike or should the title say death by driver of an F150

I was a victim of some major road rage against bikes and nearly killed in El Cajon California. The driver of a large black Ford F150 Platinum Edition truck doesn’t like bikes. At an intersection he came around me and enter the bike lane from my right side, while screaming profanities at me. He drove… Continue reading Death by bike or should the title say death by driver of an F150

“Mom can I go as fast as that Shelby Cobra? My name is Shelby.”No you can’t, but you can go endless miles (as long as I’m pedaling). You’re an etrike and you have a solar charging battery.“Mom can Stang go that fast?”Maybe? After all she’s a 69, V-8 302“Mom you should bring her to the… Continue reading It’s a Shelby!

Pedaling San Diego

It’s been a while since Lucky and Shelby have been to the waterfront. It started out as a foggy morning, but it ended up as a blustery and cool day. We pedaled Shelter Island, Harbor Island, and the old Naval Training Center which is now Liberty Station a (small)housing, shopping, and nice park area. Then… Continue reading Pedaling San Diego

Shelby is up and running again

Today was Shelby’s first ride out of the garage in a couple of weeks after the Big Bang cracked body incident. Today we pedaled to lunch a simple 5 miles. Shelby seems good as new, maybe even stronger/better than new. I think, we may have found a fairly simple, body repair and crack preventative technique.… Continue reading Shelby is up and running again

Summer heat!

I just “pedaled” (not cruised) my normal morning 10 miles on my E-trike/ELF. 80*by 8am. I’m exhausted!Drivers kept honking at me. People, I can’t go any faster there are cars in front of me. I’m the one who’s hot. Why are you people so grumpy in your car with AC.

Lucky’s luck ran out

Well, this wasn’t a good start to the day.85degress and humid by 8am and a broken slider on Little Lucky. Thankfully, we weren’t far from home. Kevin just pedaled Shelby home to get the trailer, after a couple of calls to work of course. Now to go through the parts box. Hopefully it’s good old “Miracle”… Continue reading Lucky’s luck ran out
