We were planning to pedal the Sunrise Highway in San Diego at Sunrise. As we turned the corner to the look out the wind started to whip.
As I got out of the truck I could barely stand without bracing myself. There were 15 to 30mph gusts coming off the desert floor 5,500ft below us.
After a few pictures we decided to head down the hill into the valley floor which is at 3900ft elevation. And not quit that windy.
For a couple of hours we pedaled thru cedars, pine, oaks, and chaparral. We came across a set of mountain lion tracks. We didn’t linger long in that spot.
It was mostly a picture perfect morning.
