A bold vision for biking and walking

It’s long over due and still has a chance of not happening, but let’s spread the word and make it happen.

Progress!

Dear Kit,

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Moving Forward Act (H.R 2)—a sweeping infrastructure bill that includes a bold vision for trails, walking and bicycling as part of our transportation future.

Passage of this bill presents an incredible opportunity for communities across the country to meet the growing demand for trails and other active transportation networks in a way that will transform our transportation system and help create much-needed jobs.

This is a major win for active transportation, with a doubling of dedicated investment for trails, walking and bicycling, and the inclusion—for the first time—of Active Transportation Connectivity Grants that will help communities nationwide complete their active transportation networks. Further, the bill focuses on important walk-bike safety innovations and the reduction of carbon emissions through investments that promote increased walking and bicycling.

But make no mistake: We have a long way to go before this legislation is passed by the Senate and signed into law. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the Senate as the bill progresses through the legislative process, so stay tuned for more ways to help.

For now we can celebrate this incredible milestone, made possible by the steadfast support of caring supporters like you.

Sincerely,
